school days winter tomintoul

Winter snow everywhere. Where i am at present it is summer bright and shiney and thinking of those long ago days and kind of,what if stories I would be telling now at 80 years young were enabled by all the great porridge we ate. Without sugar of course, in Tomintoul. No, I am not salesman for quaker OATs. Thank you if you respond.

years spent in tomintoul 1939-1943

having grown up in tomintoul, now I wonder what what its like now. Once in Singapore alongside another vessel, conversation led to where are you from. The other party was from Tomintoul. Unfortunely the vessel pulled out. The engineer I was conversing with said his name was Smith. On a visit to tomintoul later no one knew of a Smith. Smith a derivative of Gow in the angalised form, or vice versa.
